What Atrocities Did the Caliphate Commit
:::note[Description]
Question:
What atrocities did the Islamic caliphate commit after the death of Prophet Muhammad? - A historical look at atrocities committed during different caliphates, especially after the Prophet’s death. :::
Answer:
I would like to mention that the Caliphate in Islam lasted only for 30 years* as was predicted by the prophet saws and was proven later by history.
So the mughals of india for example were neither caliphs nor their rule was that of caliphate, and no one has ever claimed so including themselves, however here we have ignorant people just waiting for an excuse to attack islam and muslims posting long texts about the rule of mughals and atrocities which they (allegedly) committed (and even this is disputed).
Please note from the time of prophet until this day the caliphate lasted ONLY FOR 30 YEARS* which included the rule of 4 khulafai rashideen; So while answering stick to the rule of the 4 caliphs ie Abu Bakar, Omar, Uthman & Ali R.A.
And there were no atrocities committed during the reing of these people as they were the best among the best generaiton of muslims who were among the people about whom Allah mentioned in the Quran that he is pleased with them.
Even the OTTOMAN EMPIRE was not a caliphate - just by the ruler calling himself as khalifa does not make a state into a caliphate.
————* KHILAFAT LASTED FOR 30 YEARS ——————
From the aqidah of a Muslim is that he believes, in accordance with the revealed texts, that the khilafaah lasted for thirty years, that this khilafaah was upon the way of Prophethood.
The hadeeth narrated by Safeenah (radiallaahu anhu), that the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said:
The Prophetic khilafaah will last for thirty years. Then Allaah will give the dominion to whomever He wills.
Reported by Abu Dawud and al-Haakim. Saheeh al-Jaami’ as-Sagheer (no. 3257) declared Saheeh by Imaam al-Albaani (rahimahullaah).
And in the Sunan of Abu Dawud, there occurs after this hadeeth, what is said by Sa’eed bin Jamhaan, who narrated from Safeenah:
Safeenah said (to me): Hold on (meaning, listen), the khilafaah of Abu Bakr (radiallaahu anhu) was two years, and [that of] Umar (radiallaahu anhu) was ten years, and [that of] Uthmaan (radiallaahu anhu) twelve years, and [that of] Alee (radiallaahu anhu) six years.
Abu Dawud, Kitaab us-Sunnah, Chapter on the Khulafaa, (no. 4647).
Also reported by Safeenah, the saying of the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam):
The khilafaah after me in my Ummah will last for thirty years. Then there will be kingship after that.
Reported in the Musnad Imaam Ahmad, by at-Tirmidhi, Musnad Abi Ya’laa, and Ibn Hibbaan. Saheeh al-Jaami’ as-Sagheer (no. 3341) declared Saheeh by Imaam al-Albaani (rahimahullaah).
This hadeeth has been related by Imaam Ahmad in al-Musnad, al-Haakim in al-Mustadrak, Abu Ya’laa in al-Musnad, Ibn Hibbaan in his Saheeh and at-Tirmidhee in as-Sunan. And the meaning of the hadeeth has been explained by al-Haafidh (Ibn Hajar) in al-Fath, he said: “He meant by the khilafaah, the khilafaah of prophethood (i.e. the thirty years), and as for Mu’aawiyah and whoever came after him, then they were upon the way of the kings (i.e. kingship) even if they are named “khalifahs”.”
The Khilaafah Lasted for 30 Years Then There Was Kingship Which Allaah Gives To Whomever He Pleases
