Let us first understand the definition of the term Love Jihad:

Love Jihad is defined as an activity under which young Muslim men and boys target young girls belonging to non-Muslim communities for conversion to Islam by feigning love. As per the very definition love jihad is an oxymoron as jihad is an Islamic terminology which means to struggle against inner self and for righteousness, justice and truth & for upholding the supremacy of gods command whereas there is no concept of love and romance before marriage in Islam. There is no concept in Islam of forcing women for the sake of marriage neither is there any concept in Islam of forcing women to convert for the sake of marriage. Furthermore marrying non-Muslims in general and idol worshipers in particular is prohibited in Islam for both man and women.

There is nothing in Islamic scriptures which can even remotely be linked to encouraging so called “love jihad” in fact what is mentioned is totally opposite of it as Islam strictly prohibits marriage to Mushrik (Idolators like hindus) as is clearly seen in the following verses from the Noble Quran which prohibits Muslim man to marry mushrik women & Muslim women to marry Mushrik man.

*“And do not marry Al-Mushrikaat (idolatresses) till they believe (worship Allaah Alone). And indeed a slave woman who believes is better than a (free) Mushrikah (idolatress), even though she pleases you” *[al-Baqarah 2:221]

*“And give not (your daughters) in marriage to Al‑Mushrikoon till they believe (in Allaah Alone) and verily, a believing slave is better than a (free) Mushrik (idolater), even though he pleases you. Those (Al-Mushrikoon) invite you to the Fire, but Allaah invites (you) to Paradise and forgiveness by His Leave, and makes His Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) clear to mankind that they may remember” *[al-Baqarah 2:221]

So the origin of the term “love jihad” is a vile attempt to make it sound as if this practice is encouraged by Islam to first lure Hindu women in name of love and forcefully convert them for sake of marriage however those who coined this term were clearly ignorant about tenets of Islamic religion.

If we agree for sake of argument that the in case of love jihad marriage happens after forced conversion hence it is Islamic-ally legal then the problem is that Islam doesn’t allow forced conversion.

Why should a Muslim man convert a Hindu women forcefully to get married in first place ?

There can be only two possibilities:

a) If the Muslim man is concerned about religion then he will be well aware that Islam neither permits forced conversion nor marrying idolaters.

b) If he is not concerned about religion then why will he try to convert any Hindu women to Islam in first place when he himself is only Muslim for name sake ?

If someone is forced to convert to Islam without being convinced in his/her belief (as faith is matter of belief) then his / her conversion itself is null and void and if there was no conversion then the marriage itself is null and void and if there was no marriage then as per Islam the relation between the so called forcefully converted women and her husband is mere adulterous relationship which is one of the major sins in Islam. Clearly no good Muslim will ever take such a risk of incurring major sin of adultery and exposing himself to the wrath of god almighty.

So as we see in the above discussion it is clearly proven that love jihad is nothing but a myth created by hatemongers to create phobia and religious polarization between Hindus and Muslims to meet political ends. Also it is very important to note that the issue of love jihad has come up for investigation time and again by various government agencies but no evidence of any organized islamic racket or conspiracy of love jihad has been found to date.

Forced Conversion & Marriage of Muslim Women to Hindus at behest of Hindutva Goons

It has become the norm nowadays for the oppressors to blame the victims same is the case with love jihad. **Whereas *Repeated police investigations have failed to find evidence of any organised racket of love jihad *there is clear examples of forced conversion and marriage of Muslim girls many underage at the behest of hindutva brigade. Especially in rural areas several Muslim families especially from economically and socially backward classes had to bear the brunt of such humiliating incidents where their underage daughters were forcefully converted and married against their will.

As per the statements of the victim families the government machinery failed as many laws were violated while the police either remained mute spectator or even supported such crime happening under their noses. Most of such incidents are planned, executed by hindutva organizations like Hindu Yuva Vahini (HYV) and get legal and political support by leading BJP / RSS politicians some of whom were part of such organizations during some part of their political career.
