First you are talking about apostates related to prophets and messengers and then you are asking what lessons can good muslim relatives of apostates take from these incidents.

Prophets were sent as role models and if anyone (including their relatives) became apostates then they were not responsible for it and neither do they need to learn any lesson from it …except realizing the fact that it is Allah swt who gives guidance, their role is just to convey and explain the divine revelations not to force someone to become a Muslim as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed, all of them together. So, will you (O Muhammad SAW) then compel mankind, until they become believers. (Yunus 10:99)

And IF prophets were not responsible for their relatives who had become apostates then how can anyone else be blamed for his or her relative becoming an apostate.

The lessons one can learn from these incidents when someone close does not heed to the advice and follows the deviated path is to keep praying for his hidaayah (until he is alive), show patience and express gratitude/praise to Allah for guiding us and also to making our hearts firm & strong upon the truth ie Islamic religion.
