:::note[Description]

Question:

What should Muslims do to help oppressed Muslims in Europe and America? - An exploration of Islamic guidance on helping oppressed Muslims in non-Muslim lands, especially in Europe and America. :::

Answer:

This is for all Muslims including myself and around the globe below is the gist of what I have understood by the advise of righteous scholars on this matter which is filled with wisdom:

Revival of the Muslim Ummah Is by Tasfiyah wa-al-Tarbiyah (Purification & Education) - please read the article below First try to follow the righteous path yourself and then Pray to Allah as prayer is the strongest weapon of the believer. Don’t get provoked by hatemongers / Two wrongs don’t make right, also it is mentioned in Quran: The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel (the evil) with what is better (i.e. Allah orders the faithful believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to excuse those who treat them badly) then verily he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend (Fussilat 41:34). Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the foolish (i.e. don’t punish them). (Al-A’raf 7:199) Obey the law / obey those in authority / power Work honestly and treat everyone with justice and fairness Avoid protests and demonstrations Inform authorities about those individuals who are spreading extremist ideologies Remember process is more important than the end result, the means should justify the ends as per Islamic teachings. Therefore, the key to a return of the glory of Islām is:

Implementation of beneficial knowledge and establishing righteous and correct actions, and this is a very great affair with the Muslims cannot reach, except through the methodology (manhaj) of tasfiyah (purification and correction) and tarbiyah (education and cultivation). These being two very great obligations.

By the first of these (i.e. tasfiyah), the following is intended:

Purifying the Islamic Aqīdah from that which is alien to it, such as shirk, ta’teel, ta`weel, refusing authentic aḥādīth, because they are connected to matters of ʿaqīdah, and their like. Purifying the Islamic fiqh from erroneous judgements which are contrary to the Qurʾān and the Sunnah, freeing the minds from the fetters of blind-following and the darkness of sectarianism and party spirit. Purifying the books of tafsīr, fiqh and raqaa’iq (matters concerning the heart) and other than that from aḥadīth that are weak and fabricated, or the unsupported narrations from the people of the Book, and the reprehensible narrations. As regards the second obligation (i.e. tarbiyah), then by it I mean:

Cultivating the young generation upon this Islām, purified from all that we have mentioned, giving to them a correct Islamic education from the start - without any influence from the disbelieving western education. There is no doubt that bringing these two obligations about requires huge efforts and sincere cooperation between all Muslims, individuals and groups, from all those who are truly concerned with establishing the desired Islamic society, each one working in his own field and specialty.” SOURCE: Revival of the Muslim Ummah Is by Tasfiyah wa-al-Tarbiyah (Purification & Education)
