Answer:
As per Islamic belief these people who claim to be whatever in reality maybe speaking to Jinns who are also part of Gods creation. Every person has a Jinn associated with him throughout his life and that’s the reason this Jinn has knowledge about every small details about this person. When someone dies the Jinn which was associated with him may be still alive and these middlemen get in touch with them through satanic rituals. The existence of Jinn and the association of Jinn with mankind is mentioned in Quran & Sunnah reference of which is provided below:
Every human has an individual Jinn accompanying him, referred to as a Qareen (i.e. companion)
And so We have appointed for every Prophet enemies – Shayaateen (devils) among mankind and jinns, inspiring one another with adorned speech as a delusion (or by way of deception). If your Lord had so willed, they would not have done it, so leave them alone with their fabrications.” [Soorah Al-An’aam: Ayah 112]
The Prophet (ﷺ) referred to this relationship as follows:
“Every one of you has been assigned a companion from the Jinn.” The Sahabah asked, “Even you, O’ Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?” and the Prophet (ﷺ) replied, “Even me, except that Allah has helped me against him and he has submitted; now he only tells me to do good.”
