What Do Sunnis Think of Shias

:::note[Description]

Question:

What do Sunni Muslims think of Shia Muslims? - An exploration of Sunni views on Shia Muslims, ranging from theological disagreements to sectarian conflicts. :::

Answer:

  1. First of all generally so called “wahhabi” muslims generally refer to themselves as salafis.

  2. “Wahhabis” is a highly misused word and is used to describe people belonging to wide range of ideological beliefs generally by their opponents

  3. Please note that contrary to popular belief and media reports the terrorists groups and terrorism has no link with wahhabis/salafis (thats the reason why ISIS has attacked Saudi over the last 6–12 months more than once and also even Al Qaeda had attacked saudi few decades back)

  4. As per salafi ideology the shias are deviated innovators in religion and their level of deviation varies between different sects; Based upon their level of deviation from islam some shia sects are considered kaafirs by the wahhabis/salafis like raafidah and alawite sects for example (to which bashar asad of syria belongs) and some sects are considered deviated innovators (but still muslims).

  5. Wahhabis/Salafis believe in dealing people fairly as per principles of islamic justice whether there shias, sunni muslims or non-muslims.
